Tony was so enthusiastic and involved with organising his veterans' day at Il Gnosh that he didn't even slightly pick up on the fact that Cindy was quite peeved with the fact that he had been neglecting her of late. Typically only thinking of money, she took his medals to be valued and found out some interesting information in the process. She then used this information to shock him when he later berated her for not making the kids a proper dinner and just buying then a greasy take-away, hitting back with the news that his great-grandfather was German.

Meanwhile, Nancy was rather dejected that Anita didn't confide in her when Hannah explained that their friendship stems from the fact that Anita has an eating disorder. She wondered out loud why Anita didn't trust her with her problem and Hannah didn't beat around the bush in telling her why she thinks this is, also adding that she's obviously the best person to help her. Then, furthering her efforts to help Anita through her supposed disorder, Hannah gave Anita the diary she wrote while she was still ill.

Elsewhere, uncomfortable Calvin and Mercedes continued to butt heads following their illicit kiss the night before, Rhys overheard when Josh told Hayley to break up with him, and a lonely Spencer found a firework and lit it while it was still in his hand...
