David Nielson wouldn't like to live next to his 'Coronation Street' character.
The soap veteran said although his wife would compare his character - loveable but introverted Roy Cropper - would find him too socially awkward to live near in real life.
David, 60, said: "My wife would say I'm like him. I can be in a world of my own. And I don't like disorder. I like to know where my car keys are. I'm my own man too, although I think I have slightly more social skills than Roy.
"I wouldn't like to live next door to Roy, but he's an honourable man. He has to do what he feels is the correct thing.
He also added that he feels proud that he has established a character deserving of a legacy during his time on the soap.
David continued: "I don't normally do pride, but if I left 'Coronation Street' tomorrow I'd know I've helped create someone long lasting like Curly Watts, Eddie Yeats or Reg Holdsworth.
"I love him - join the church of Roy, that's what I say."
