Maisie and Nathan are planning a surprise hotel break for Natasha and Mark. They ask Nicola to clear her diary so that they can surprise her. Hating the idea of spending a weekend with Mark, Natasha attempts to back out, but Nathan and Maisie refuse to take no for an answer.

Meanwhile, Paddy is still refusing to speak to Aaron, although they both regret their bitter confrontation. Paddy tells Marlon that it's probably best that Chas is not wanting to consider marriage, but he is secretly shattered. As the village exaggerate Aaron and Paddy's encounter, Aaron offers a genuine apology to Paddy, to which Paddy responds. When Aaron presents Paddy with his birthday gift, Paddy is hopeful that he may have achieved a breakthrough with the unruly teenager.

Also, Gennie is invited out via an online dating site. She accepts with Jamie's help, while Brenda - unaware of Gennie's unorthodox dating methods - is concerned that her daughter has no life.
