'EastEnders' ex-con Jase Dyer is left fighting for his life after he is tortured by his criminal colleagues from the past.
Jase, played by actor Stephen Lord, falls victim to the violent attack on the night before he is meant to wed Dawn (Kara Tointon), who is unaware of his dodgy dealings.
He is set to go through with yet another underhanded exchange, this time with the help of a desperate Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), who gets involved when all his plans to solve his current financial crisis fail to reach fruition.
However, the deal goes sour when Jase and Billy realise that they have been set up by Jase's former 'friends', and they threaten to hurt his son Jay, who they have kidnapped.
Terrified Billy flees the scene, leaving Jase in the brutal hands of his attackers.
Perry told The Daily Star of the shocking storyline: "You will see a real similarity between these two.
"Here are two men so desperate to provide for their families that they have been driven down this path of violence. Their paths collide but things go horribly wrong.
"I don't think Billy has thought things through. He doesn't expect to suddenly get caught up in what is effectively a gang war."
