'Hollyoaks' beauty Emma Rigby has taken on a new role - as a WAG.

The 18-year-old actress, who plays Hannah Ashworth in the popular soap, is dating Doncaster Rovers player Matthew Mills, following in the footsteps of co-star Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes), whose boyfriend is Liverpool's Jermaine Pennant.

However, Emma insists that the title is not one that she takes too seriously.

She told The Daily Star: "I don't consider myself a WAG at all, in fact it makes me laugh every time someone says something like that to me.

"There's certain images you get when you hear that word and I am none of those things. There are a lot of women out there who are WAGs and have very successful careers, like Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham.

"Clearly I'm nowhere near their league but I really respect them for what they do, for making a career for themselves and being successful."

The British Soap Awards Best Actress winner added that she is "very happy" with 22-year-old Mills.

She said: "Things are going really well for us at the moment. We just had a holiday in Dubai, it was absolutely fantastic.

"But when we got back I saw our pictures were in the papers, it was so cringe-ing. I hate it when you see sneaky pictures like that, we had no idea they were there and we were just messing about. We had a fantastic time though.

"I am definitely very happy at the moment, my mum really likes Matthew and that's the main thing."
