Kane's long and successful time on the run came to an abrupt end when he eventually found himself with nowhere left to run, and was subsequently arrested. Upon finding out that her husband has been committing petty crimes without her knowing for so long, Kirsty was dumbfounded, and to make matters worse, her and Irene now also found themselves in some serious trouble.

Meanwhile, doctors had no more choice but to operate on Larry despite the fact that his blood had been seriously thinned out by his aspirin addiction. Aden was, however, still not forgiving towards his father, even after he was told that Larry might die during surgery.

Needing to get away from it all, Aden left the hospital and headed to the beach to go drown his sorrows with some alcohol. A concerned Belle followed him to the beach, where she finally revealed how she feels about him, but when he tried to kiss her she insisted that he was too drunk. However, Aden later ended up outside her window and she agreed that he could stay in her room for the night. Then, the next morning, Annie and Geoff found the two of them in bed together.
